One feature, one real site.
Each piece takes a highseam feature and shows it in production: the config that turns it on, what it changed, and what it got wrong first.
PawScapes
Ten thousand venues, no migration
PawScapes' venues live in a 62-column D1 table that a data pipeline owns. highseam edits that table in place: same rows, same columns, an admin and APIs on top, and nothing migrated.

Two deploys, one database
The PawScapes admin and the public site are separate Cloudflare Pages projects over one D1 database. The public site never runs the CMS; it checks a signed token and renders the draft itself.

One original, every crop
A PawScapes photo appears as a 16:7 hero, a 3:2 card and a 1200×630 share image. It's stored once. An editor places one hotspot, previews every crop in the admin, and the site steers each crop with plain CSS.

Adopting 7,954 photos without moving a byte
PawScapes' pipeline had already mirrored thousands of venue photos into R2. highseam's import endpoint turned them into searchable media documents in place, keyed on the venue rather than the URL, and a re-run after renames touched only the 55 that changed.

Instagram and TikTok without their HTML
PawScapes embeds its own reels from Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. The CMS stores a provider and an id, never third-party markup, and the site builds every iframe from a fixed list of hosts.

Links that survive a rename
In August a cleanup moved 94 PawScapes URLs, and every internal link pointing at them had to be rewritten by hand in SQL. highseam 1.7.0's link field stores the target's id instead of its URL, so the next rename needs no rewrite.

What a production site found
Most highseam releases since August started as something going wrong on PawScapes. This is the list, release by release, including the bugs that shipped.
